Wade Macdonald in Central London is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance function within a growing, employee-owned professional services organisation. You will report to Head of Finance and direct a high-performing team.

The role covers financial reporting, controls, budgeting, payroll coordination, VAT/PAYE compliance, and strategic finance improvements. The position offers a £75,000 salary, full-time hours with flexible working and discretionary bonus.

Qualifications

• ACCA/ACA qualified or substantial relevant experience.
• Strong background in financial reporting and management accounting.
• Experience leading a finance team and providing financial insight.
• Advanced Excel and ERP experience, payroll oversight and statutory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly close, deliver management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team.
• Oversee accounts payable, invoicing and credit control.
• Assist with budgets, forecasts and variance commentary.
• Drive improvements to financial systems, reporting and controls.
• Coordinate outsourced payroll and tax reporting.
• Ensure VAT, PAYE and statutory reporting compliance.
• Work with senior stakeholders to improve business performance.
