Job summary

Wade Macdonald is seeking a Financial Controller in Oxfordshire on a 9-month FTC. The role leads financial reporting, management accounting and controls, managing a small team within a busy finance function.

The position is hybrid with 2–3 days in the office, offering a £90,000 salary. You will oversee close processes, external audits, statutory accounts and key financial controls, partnering with senior stakeholders to improve processes and reporting quality.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified ACA or ACCA accountant with strong technical knowledge of FRS 102 and IFRS.
• Proven experience leading finance teams and delivering accurate statutory reporting.
• Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders and drive process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly and quarterly close, delivering accurate results within deadlines.
• Review complex accounting adjustments, ensuring correct treatment under standards.
• Produce insightful management information for board reporting.
• Maintain balance sheet accuracy with reconciliations and issue resolution.
• Maintain robust financial controls and supporting documentation.
• Oversee cash flow projections and manage working capital needs.
• Coordinate external audits and statutory accounts preparation.
• Liaise with tax specialists to ensure correct submissions on time.
• Lead and develop a team of three Management Accountants.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
