About Our Client

We are currently recruiting for a Financial Controller to join our client, a global manufacturing business based in Mid Kent, on a full-time and permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have a solid accounting background and demonstrable involvement in business strategy, commercial thinking, and leading projects. As Financial Controller, you will drive financial control, enhance reporting processes, and streamline day-to-day operations to support the business's growth trajectory. Please note, this role requires onsite presence.

Job Responsibilities

• Support the FD with regular financial, commercial, and legal input into ad hoc projects, improvements, and regulatory changes.
• Lead annual external audits and prepare statutory accounts packs.
• Participate in internal audit reviews and ensure robust internal controls are maintained.
• Assist the FD with budgets and forecasts.
• Ensure leases comply with IFRS 16.
• Review and publish finance policies and rates.
• Prepare and submit quarterly UK VAT returns and Irish VAT returns.
• Review corporation tax computations and liaise with tax departments and consultants.
• Assist in PAYE Settlement Agreement reviews and approvals.
• Review accruals, prepayments, and overhead costs monthly against budgets.
• Reconcile balance sheets and lease costs regularly.
• Review weekly cash flow forecasts and produce monthly reports.

The Successful Candidate

The ideal candidate will be:

• Formally qualified (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) or QBE.
• Experienced in finance, with knowledge of AP, AR, and financial accounting.
• Experience at group level is advantageous.
• Capable of delivering quality work under tight deadlines with strong organizational skills.
• Highly analytical with attention to detail.
• Experience with SAP and SAP Financial Consolidation is a plus.
