We are excited to present a fantastic opportunity with our esteemed client, a prominent player in the Payments sector who has experienced significant growth in the FinTech market. They are now seeking a Financial Controller for a 6-month interim contract with a view to permanent employment. As part of the Financial Reporting & Control team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring financial data accuracy, managing credit products, and overseeing credit risk areas that are central to developing the product offering as the business scales its international operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ownership of the month-end processes for reporting P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
• Support with statutory audits
• Build robust financial control processes and strengthen internal controls
• Collate, manipulate, and extract key financial data; monitor transactions to ensure accuracy of key financial information
• Work closely with the Credit Services team around business, product, and operations to understand product performance and ensure transactions are correctly recorded
• Maintain strong balance sheet controls, identifying opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes

About you:

• Qualified accountant with experience in FinTech/Financial Services
• Strong accounting and technical finance knowledge in a controllership position
• Experienced with credit products and provisioning for credit risk
• Excellent knowledge of accounting standards under UK GAAP and IFRS
• Strong Excel skills, including working with large data sets
