A growing European SME seeks a Financial Controller to lead accounting and reporting for their UK business. This role involves managing month-end closes, cash flow, and year-end financial statements. The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with SME experience, particularly in technology, media, or gaming sectors. The position is mainly remote with one office day per week.

Job description

As Financial Controller for this growing European SME, you will lead the accounting and reporting for the UK business including;

• Lead the timely month end close including management accounts and variance analysis
• Cash flow management to support operational and strategic planning
• Prepare yearend financial statements under FRS102
• Manage inter-company transactions and multicurrency consolidations
• Act as the main point of contact for external auditors leading this for UK and European entities
• Lead on daily finance operations
• Lead a new general ledger implementation and drive controls and processes and automation projects
• Oversee outsource payroll processing
  
  

You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with experience across accounting and reporting. Experience working within an SME environment useful as well as experience working within the technology, media or gaming sectors.

You will need to be hands on and happy to take accountability and responsibility for your remit.

This role is mainly remote working with 1 day per week in the office.

The company has around 100 staff and you will be working closely with the Group Head of Finance UK based (who will focus on the strategy and FP&A piece).
