ABOUT THE ROLE:

Our finance team have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Controller to join the team and play a key role in shaping the financial future of Townhouse! This position will see you working closely with the Head of Finance to lead the Finance team, delivering high-quality reporting, budgeting, compliance, and strategic insights to support the continued growth of the business.

You will be working within our rapidly growing central team, leading a group of talented finance professionals and reporting to the Head of Finance. We are a collaborative and ambitious team committed to excellence, transparency, and innovation in everything we do.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts and annual financial statements in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Analyse financial data and present findings to senior management, highlighting key trends and areas for improvement.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard Townhouse’s assets.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and review salon performance against targets.
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process in collaboration with department heads.
  • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis to support strategic decisions.
  • Manage and report on company-wide cash flow, including receivables, payables, and liquidity.
  • Develop strategies to optimise working capital and financial risk management.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and lead annual audit preparation.
  • Guide and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Leverage financial software to streamline processes and improve reporting accuracy.
  • Communicate complex financial information to stakeholders across the business, including board members and investors.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Extensive experience as a Finance Manager ready to step into an FC role, or prior experience at Financial Controller level.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of financial systems and reporting standards.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate a team.
  • A strategic thinker with strong attention to detail and analytical capabilities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in multi-site or retail business environments is a plus.

LOCATION:

Our office is based in Central London, and we require 3 days on-site.
