Grant Thornton UK is seeking a Senior Manager/Associate Director to lead controllership transformation and financial close automation within Finance Consulting. You will work with CFOs and Financial Controllers to reshape close processes, accelerate reporting, and drive measurable efficiency gains through technology-enabled change.

This high-visibility role requires deep technical finance knowledge, client leadership, and the ability to deliver multi-engagement programmes across industries.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in controllership and finance transformation.
• Experience leading complex programmes with CFO/Financial Controller interaction.
• Hands-on experience with close automation platforms and EPM tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end controllership transformation programmes from diagnostic to operating model design.
• Own financial close automation workstreams including design, testing, and change management.
• Advise on close technology platform selection (FloQast, OneStream, Prophix).
• Redesign close and consolidation processes, including calendar optimization and intercompany automation.
• Develop policy and control frameworks to improve close speed and reduce audit risk.
• Drive automation of journal entry, reconciliation, and variance analysis workflows.
• Translate finance-operations challenges into actionable roadmaps for clients to own.
• Manage delivery across multiple engagements ensuring quality, timeline and budget.
