Job summary

Grant Thornton UK is seeking an exceptional Assistant Manager for Finance Consulting / CFO Solutions, focusing on Controllership Transformation and Financial Close Automation. You will work with CFOs and Financial Controllers across sectors to re-engineer controllership and automate close processes, partnering with Directors and Partners to drive lasting change.

You will develop skills in process redesign, automation technology, and stakeholder management, progressing toward Manager and beyond

Qualifications

• Professional qualification (ACA, ICAS, CA, ACCA, CIMA, or CIPFA) with post-qualification experience
• A genuine interest in finance transformation and the role technology can play in improving controllership and close processes
• Confidence engaging with senior finance stakeholders and managing expectations effectively

Responsibilities

• Lead workstreams within controllership and financial close transformation engagements, from diagnostic through to implementation
• Analyse current-state close processes and identify bottlenecks, manual workarounds, control weaknesses, and opportunities for automation
• Assist in designing improved close calendars, reconciliation frameworks, and intercompany processes
• Support close technology implementations across FloQast, OneStream, Prophix, and similar tools
• Develop process documentation, policy frameworks, and training materials to embed and sustain change
• Build day-to-day relationships with client finance teams as a trusted contact
• Manage engagement budgets and timelines
• Collaborate with Directors and Partners to grow the practice
