A reputable organization in Manchester is seeking a Finance Business Partner to work closely with the Sales & Distribution team. The role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to drive financial insights, and provide budgeting guidance. This full-time position does not allow for remote work.

Job description

As a Finance Business Partner you will be working in the heart of our busy and growing Sales & Distribution function. The role sits within the Financial Performance team alongside two other business partners but has a dotted line to the Sales & Distribution leadership team where you will be considered a key member. The focus is to provide insight and challenge on their headcount overhead spend sales efficiency and help them deliver the growth in the 5 year plan.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a forward looking business partnering service for the Sales & Distribution Director and their leadership team on which the role holder is considered a member, challenging them on what/how they are managing their business to drive value for money and improved returns.
  • Provide oversight and challenge on product pricing for both on and off rate card decisions, reviewing rate adherence by channel to ensure that the overall mix of sales is appropriate.
  • Lead the monthly Trading meeting between the CFO and Sales & Distribution Director providing the insight and robust challenge to drive a productive conversation and action orientated outcome to improve sales performance.
  • Lead insight on sales efficiency, understand trends and variances by area / channel to drive improvement in the sales function.
  • Monthly reporting on costs including variance analysis and a view on risks and opportunities to plan to the Sales & Distribution leadership team. Challenge sales activity spend to ensure that it is delivering results.
  • Lead the annual Budget process and quarterly reforecasting process for costs and income for the Sales and Distribution business unit.
  • Provide any further adhoc insight and analysis required by the business area or internally from the Director of FP&A and CFO.
Qualifications
  • Excellent communication leadership relationship building and influencing skills at a strategic level with the ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences.
  • An inquisitive mind that can think laterally about any potential consequences for the company and is a self‑starting problem solver.
  • Strong written and verbal communication that is articulate and delivered professionally, can negotiate and generate commitment.
  • Commercially astute pragmatic value based decision maker.
  • Experience business partnering senior management or executive level stakeholders.
  • Strong Microsoft Office suite skills (Excel Word Powerpoint)
  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA ACCA ACA).
