Job description

Our client is a fantastic business based in the Stoke on Trent area. This Accounts Assistant role will report to the Head of Finance and work within a team to ensure the smooth operation of the accounts function and effective management of customer accounts. The role also involves supporting the accounts payable team and processing payroll for the business.

The team is friendly and personable, with a very supportive approach.

Job Description for the Accounts Assistant role:
  • Contact debtors to chase overdue payments and receive payments.
  • Build relationships to ensure clients pay on time and in full.
  • Investigate and resolve queries.
  • Enter daily banking information.
  • Support the accounts payable team by handling queries and processing invoices.
  • Take credit card payments and process them.
  • Process payroll.
  • Produce reports and monitor company targets in line with performance.
Candidate requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar accounts role.
  • Part AAT qualification is desirable.
  • Experience using Sage 50 Accounts & Payroll or other accounting software.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work effectively in a small team.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, both on the phone and face-to-face.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Salary: £25,000 - £29,000 per annum
