Job summary

Aethos London Shoreditch is seeking a Finance Assistant to join our team in a vibrant hospitality setting. The role supports the Finance team in maintaining accurate records, processing transactions, and delivering timely financial reporting across Rooms, F&B, and outlets.

You will work closely with the finance team to ensure strong financial controls, assist with month-end close, and help prepare management accounts.

Qualifications

• Experience processing supplier invoices and coding
• Strong reconciliations and AP/AR management
• Support month-end close and reporting
• Familiarity with hotel accounting is a plus

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices with correct coding and approvals
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
• Assist with payment runs and AP ageing
• Support invoicing and collections as required
• Assist daily revenue checks across Rooms, F&B, and outlets
• Reconcile POS to PMS and accounting system
• Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and month-end close
• Support preparation of monthly management accounts
• Maintain audit-ready documentation and support audits

THE ROLE

The Finance Assistant supports the Finance team in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with reporting. This role is key to ensuring strong financial control across all hotel departments, including Rooms, F&B, and operational costs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Process supplier invoices, ensuring correct coding and approvals
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
• Assist with payment runs and maintain AP ageing
• Support invoicing and collections where required

Revenue & Income Audit Support

• Assist with daily revenue checks across Rooms, F&B, and other outlets
• Reconcile POS systems to PMS (e.g. Mews) and accounting system
• Investigate and resolve variances

Balance Sheet Reconciliations

• Assist with reconciliation of key balance sheet accounts
• Support month-end close process

Financial Reporting

• Support preparation of monthly management accounts
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation

Control & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and procedures
• Support audit requests (internal/external)
• Maintain organised and audit-ready documentation
