We are partnering with a leading financial institution looking for a Back Office Processing Assistant to join their Wholesale Back Office / IT team in London. This is an office-based role reporting to the Wholesale Back Office Processing Manager.

Role Overview

The Back Office Processing Assistant will be responsible for ensuring that all deals are accurately processed and recorded in a timely manner. This includes checking deals, confirming transactions, processing payments, and investigating discrepancies. The role also involves maintaining settlement files and supporting the daily audit of intraday exposure reports, ensuring all processes comply with internal control and risk policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately process and check all deals daily, covering FX, Money Market, and Banknote transactions.
  • Verify incoming confirmations and reconcile against the system of record (Intrafin).
  • Provide settlement files for specific customers and investigate any queries promptly.
  • Audit intraday exposure reports and elevate any breaches or discrepancies.
  • Manage cancelled deals to ensure payments are stopped where required.
  • Monitor banknote trades to ensure correct settlement, coordinating with the cash centre where necessary.
  • Maintain and update counterparty settlement instructions and static data in line with approved controls.
  • Support and cross‑train within the team to meet departmental deadlines.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiencies.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Knowledge / Experience
  • Familiarity with payments and back‑office operations.
  • Proficient in MS Office (intermediate level).
Qualifications / Education
  • Educated to A level or equivalent.
