Job summary

TechMet Ltd. is seeking a multi-talented Technical Support Engineer to install, configure, test and support our security systems at customer sites across NI and Ireland.

You will collaborate with bench engineers and software engineers to set up rigs and deliver bespoke technology in a dynamic field. You will provide on-site and remote technical support, maintain systems, and help drive product development while staying current with new technologies.

Qualifications

• Possess a mix of engineering and IT skills.
• BTEC/HNC in Electronic and Electrical Engineering with IT interest/experience.
• At least 1+ years’ experience in technical support/installation in electronics or security services or similar.
• Experience of PC based support tools.
• Logical, methodical thinker with creative problem-solving ability.
• Proven ability to respond positively to challenges.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, test, maintain and support systems at customer sites including hardware, software, cabling and testing.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers, ensure resolution and satisfaction.
• Proactively implement contingency procedures to improve service.
• Contribute to development of existing and future products.
• Feedback customer improvement ideas to Development Team.
• Stay up-to-date with current and future technologies.
• Carry the support phone on an agreed rota and provide out-of-hours assistance.
• Assist in evaluation of new technologies and software products.
• Work with Project Manager to ensure successful implementation of key projects.
• Provide pre-sales support, product demonstrations and trade shows.
