Job summary

Mercury Hampton Ltd is seeking a Field Service & Product Support Engineer to operate across the UK and Ireland on a permanent, field-based basis. The role includes installing, commissioning, diagnosing faults and delivering customer training, with significant field support and product development input.

The successful engineer will bring experience in construction equipment, CAN Bus/electro-hydraulic controls and attachments, plus a full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or recognised qualification in Engineering, Plant, Agricultural Machinery, Automotive or a related discipline.
• Experience servicing, maintaining or supporting mobile plant, construction equipment or heavy machinery.
• Knowledge of CAN Bus systems and electro-hydraulic controls.
• Experience with excavator attachments, tiltrotators, quick couplers or related equipment.
• Strong diagnostic skills covering electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and hydraulic diagrams.
• Experience dealing directly with customers and end users.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to travel throughout the UK and Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission and support specialist equipment across customer sites.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, hydraulic and mechanical faults.
• Provide technical support to customers, dealers and field service teams.
• Conduct machine inspections, investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Support product testing, validation and development projects.
• Deliver product demonstrations and customer training.
• Produce service reports and technical documentation.
• Support warranty investigations and corrective actions.
• Liaise with engineering teams to improve product performance and reliability.
• Promote best practice and deliver a first-class customer experience.
