Job description
Overview

Field Service Engineer required for a manufacturer based in Cheddar. Travel is required as clients are based across the UK and abroad, with some time away from home. Visits are agreed in advance and fully expensed. As skills and experience increase, you may be involved in commissioning installed systems, potentially leading to several days or a couple of weeks away. The role covers the South West of England.

Responsibilities
  • Servicing and maintaining water treatment systems such as Reverse Osmosis, Deionisers, Filters, Water Softeners and Effluent treatment plant at customer sites around the UK (and potentially overseas).
  • Managing direct relationships with customers and plant operatives.
  • Analyzing and resolving problems at site and via remote support.
  • Completing installation and commissioning of plant (subject to qualification and skill set).
  • Completing service reports and other associated documentation (using MS Word).
  • Responding to customer needs in line with commercial and technical specifications.
  • Assisting the company with service improvement initiatives; taking a proactive approach to increasing productivity and profitability.
  • Ensuring a high level of customer care and service at all times.
  • Observing and abiding by all company policies including Health & Safety at all times.
  • Enhancing your own skills and knowledge through proactive learning and self-development.
Requirements
  • A multi-disciplined electro-mechanical engineer with relevant qualifications.
  • Experience in the water treatment industry is advantageous.
  • Experience as a Service Engineer or in a field-based technical support role is advantageous.
  • Passionate about providing first-class service to customers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels clearly.
  • Professional approach to work and in interactions with colleagues and customers.
  • Good IT skills, specifically MS Office.
  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel.
  • Location: Home-based but willing to work across the South West of England. Company vehicle and fuel card supplied.

  • Salary dependent on experience likely £35k-£45k.
