Job summary

SMT GB is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service and repair Volvo construction equipment across Reading and surrounding areas. You will diagnose faults, perform preventive maintenance, and liaise with customers to ensure high uptime and service quality.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plant Maintenance or related discipline, a full UK driving licence, and willingness to travel. A competitive benefits package accompanies a permanent, full-time position.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural Engineering, HGV Maintenance, or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience maintaining and repairing construction plant equipment.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel in region.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out diagnostics, servicing, maintenance, and repairs on Volvo construction equipment within Reading and surrounding areas.
• Identify and resolve faults using diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge.
• Act as primary contact for customers, providing updates on machine status and repairs.
• Complete all job documentation, inspection reports, and timesheets accurately and in real time.
