Job summary

GE HealthCare is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, and repair Xray systems across the Midlands with UK-wide coverage. You will diagnose complex faults, build strong relationships with healthcare professionals, and provide remote diagnostics from a home office.

The role requires field service experience, strong communication, and a UK driving licence, with 35–40% travel and occasional overnight stays. Training and overtime/weekend support are included.

Qualifications

• HNC (or equivalent) in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Field service experience; medical imaging experience advantageous but training provided.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently.
• Experience with remote connectivity tools and diagnostics.
• Good IT skills, including software installation, virtual machines, and troubleshooting.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair Xray systems across the Midlands and wider UK.
• Diagnose and resolve complex system-level faults across multi-technology platforms.
• Build relationships with healthcare professionals to maximise uptime and satisfaction.
• Provide remote diagnostics and support from a home office.
• Collaborate with engineering, service centres, and commercial teams.
• Manage tools, spare parts, and travel logistics efficiently.
• Complete documentation accurately and on time.
• Travel 35–40% of the time, with occasional overnight stays.
• Attend international training courses as required; support overtime/callouts/weekends (4 weekends).
