Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a field-based technician to service and repair Volvo construction equipment within the UK region. You will diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine faults using diagnostic tools and communicate progress and recommendations to customers.

You will complete documentation in real time, uphold safety standards, and proactively identify opportunities to maximise machine uptime through effective servicing and maintenance.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in plant maintenance or related engineering discipline.
• Proven experience repairing heavy construction plant.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrics, and diagnostics.
• Advanced fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in a field-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, diagnose, and repair Volvo construction equipment within the designated region.
• Identify and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Act as the primary customer contact and provide updates on machine status and recommended actions.
• Complete job documentation, inspection reports, and timesheets in real time.
• Maintain safety, professionalism, and compliance with policies.
• Build customer relationships and identify opportunities to improve performance and uptime.
