Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled Service Technician to service, maintain, diagnose and repair Volvo construction equipment across the designated region in the United Kingdom.

You will identify mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and engine faults using diagnostic equipment, act as the primary customer contact, and complete timely documentation while ensuring safety and professionalism on every site visit.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent.
• Proven experience maintaining and repairing heavy construction plant.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, drivetrains, electrics, and diagnostics.
• Ability to work independently in a field-based environment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to travel and overtime.
• Safety-conscious and compliant with company procedures.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, diagnose, and repair Volvo construction equipment and associated machinery within the designated region
• Identify and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine-related faults using technical expertise and diagnostic equipment
• Act as the primary customer contact, providing machine-status updates, repair progress, and recommended actions
• Complete job documentation, inspection reports, timesheets, and electronic records accurately and in real time
• Maintain safety, professionalism, housekeeping, and compliance with company policies and procedures
• Work independently on customer sites while building strong customer relationships and improving machine performance and uptime
