Job summary

SMT GB is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our Customer Support team. You will service and repair Volvo construction equipment on customer sites across Duxford and surrounding areas.

You will diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and engine faults, maintain records in real time, and ensure high levels of safety and customer satisfaction. A UK driving licence and NVQ3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent are essential.

Qualifications

NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural Engineering, HGV Maintenance, or a related engineering discipline.
Proven experience maintaining and repairing heavy construction plant and equipment.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, drivetrains, electrics and diagnostic systems.

Responsibilities

Carrying out diagnostics, servicing, maintenance, and repairs on Volvo construction equipment and associated machinery.
Identifying and resolving faults across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and engine systems.
Acting as primary contact for customers, updating on status and progress.
Completing all job documentation, inspection reports and timesheets accurately and in real time.
Maintaining high safety, professionalism and compliance with policies.
