Job summary

SMT is seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join our Customer Support team in Duxford and surrounding areas. You will service, diagnose, and repair Volvo construction equipment at customer sites, ensuring maximum uptime and clear communication with clients.

You will hold an NVQ Level 3 in a related field and bring hands-on experience with heavy plant, diesel engines, hydraulics, and diagnostics. A UK driving licence and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural Engineering, HGV Maintenance, or related engineering discipline.
Experience maintaining and repairing heavy construction plant equipment.

Responsibilities

Service, maintain, diagnose, and repair Volvo construction equipment within designated region.
Work with customers on site to ensure maximum uptime and identify performance improvements.
Complete job documentation, inspection reports, and timesheets accurately in real time.
Safely maintain high standards of safety, professionalism and housekeeping.
