YouFibre Limited is hiring a Field Service Engineer to install and optimise Wi‑Fi networks at customer premises in Grantham. The role covers on-site surveys, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of home/business networks.

You will also upsell high‑speed packages using the latest ASUS routers and ensure top‑notch customer support. We offer a van, full-time hours (Tue–Sat 08:30–17:30), and a supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Wi-Fi standards (e.g., 802.11ac/ax), security, and networking principles.
• Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Wi‑Fi networks.
• Excellent communication to explain technical concepts to non-technical customers.
• Analytical skills to identify and resolve issues effectively.
• Technical certifications or training in networking or telecommunications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure Wi-Fi networks, including routers and extenders.
• Diagnose and resolve Wi-Fi connectivity and performance issues.
• Manage Wi-Fi network performance: channel, signal strength, interference.
• Deliver excellent customer service and explain technical information clearly.
• Conduct on-site surveys to assess coverage and identify interference sources.
• Perform routine maintenance and firmware updates on Wi‑Fi equipment.
• Install/upsell packages, including high-speed services and routers.

Hours: Full time, Shift Pattern - 5 days - (Tuesday to Saturday 08:30 - 5.30pm )

Key Responsibilities

• Installation and Setup: Install and configure Wi-Fi networks, including routers, extenders and other related equipment.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to Wi-Fi connectivity and performance..
• Network : Wi-Fi networks for performance, including channel selection, signal strength adjustments, and interference management.
• Customer Support: Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer concerns and explaining technical information in an understandable manner.
• Site Surveys: Conduct on-site surveys to assess signal coverage, identify potential interference sources, and recommend appropriate .
• Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and firmware updates on Wi-Fi equipment to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Product Delivery: Install/Upsell our amazing packages including our 8GB service with the latest ASUS gaming routers.
• Run Cat 6 Ethernet cable for relocating routers or to hardwire a customer’s specific device.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of Wi-Fi technology, including standards (e.g., 802.11ac, 802.11ax), encryption methods, and networking principles.
• Experience: Previous experience as a Wi-Fi technician or in a similar role. Hands-on experience with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Wi-Fi networks is highly desirable.
• Customer Service Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical customers.
• Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve technical issues effectively.
• Education: Technical certifications or training in networking or telecommunications are preferred.
• Ethernet Cables: Know the colour code of an ethernet cable and be able to make one on request at customer properties.
