Job summary

A leading recruitment consultancy is seeking a Field Service Engineer to provide electrical and mechanical support on specialist loading bay equipment. Candidates should have significant experience in field service, with strong fault-finding skills in both mechanical and electronic systems. This role includes managing tools and attending installations. The position is based ideally in Slough or surrounding areas, with a salary ranging from £35,000 to £40,000 plus OTE earnings.

Field Service Engineers - Specialist Loading Bay Equipment

Locations: Southeast England – Ideally based in Slough, Oxford, Reading, Luton or surrounding areas
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum
On‑Target Earnings (OTE): £45,000 + Door‑to‑Door paid travel

Are you a skilled Service Technician with a strong electrical or mechanical background? Do you enjoy working on a wide range of equipment and delivering high‑quality service? We're recruiting experienced engineers to join a market‑leading manufacturer whose service team is renowned for supporting household‑name clients with fault‑finding, repairs, maintenance, and technical support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide electrical and mechanical support, predominantly on dock levellers and specialist loading bay equipment.
  • Assist with installations when necessary.
  • Participate in an occasional on‑call rota and responsibly manage company tools, vehicle, and stock.
  • Promote sales of maintenance services and equipment, including spare parts, and advise sales department of possible sales leads.
Requirements
  • Experience in field service or other relevant electrical & mechanical engineering.
  • Strong mechanical/electronic fault‑finding skills.
  • Experience with lifting equipment or similar (desirable).
  • Welding experience (desirable).
  • Valid certifications:
  • Electrical qualifications, or relevant experience.
  • Mechanical qualifications, or relevant experience.
