Job summary

Interaction Technical is seeking a Workshop Engineer for forklifts at our Grantham site. You will service, maintain and repair forklift trucks and plant machinery in a dedicated workshop environment with minimal travel.

Key tasks include fault finding, servicing, and repairs across engines, hydraulics, electrical and battery-powered equipment, plus PDIs on new/used machinery. Attractive overtime, training and progression await the successful candidate.

Qualifications

• Experience in plant, agricultural, HGV or material handling industries is essential.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical systems is essential.
• Experience with engines and battery-powered equipment is required.
• Solid fault finding, service and repair skills.
• NVQ/City & Guilds in mechanical/electrical engineering is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults, service and repair forklift trucks and plant equipment in a workshop.
• Carry out pre-delivery inspections (PDI) on new and used machinery.
• Perform mechanical and electrical fault finding across key systems (engines, batteries, hydraulics, pneumatics).
• Recondition and prepare equipment for hire or resale.
• Maintain accurate job sheets and service records; keep the workshop clean and safe.

Location: Grantham, Lincolnshire
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 (DOE) + Overtime (1.5x)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 17:00

The Role

Based at the Grantham site, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing a range of forklift trucks and plant machinery within a workshop environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Diagnosing faults, carrying out servicing, and completing repairs on forklift and plant equipment
• Conducting pre-delivery inspections (PDI) on new and used machinery
• Carrying out mechanical and electrical fault finding
• Working on key systems including:
  • Engines
  • Batteries
  • Hydraulics
  • Pneumatics
• Reconditioning and preparing equipment for hire or resale
• Completing job sheets and service records accurately
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised workshop

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working in the plant, agricultural, HGV or material handling industries (essential)
