Job summary

Interaction Technical, a UK material handling specialist, is expanding its workshop team and seeking a Workshop Engineer for forklifts based at the Grantham site. You will service, maintain and repair a range of forklift trucks and plant equipment in a dedicated workshop.

The role requires fault finding on hydraulics, electrical and mechanical systems, and performing PDIs on new and used machinery. Overtime is available at 1.5x, with 24 days holiday and a pension, and standard hours are

Qualifications

• Experience in plant/agricultural/HGV/material handling industries.
• Strong hydraulics, electrical and mechanical knowledge.
• Engines and battery-powered equipment experience.
• Solid fault finding, service and repair skills.
• NVQ/City & Guilds in mechanical/electrical engineering advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults, service and repair forklift and plant equipment.
• Carry out pre-delivery inspections on new and used machinery.
• Fault finding on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Work on engines, batteries, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Reconditioning and preparing equipment for hire or resale.
• Complete job sheets and service records accurately.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop.

Location: Grantham, Lincolnshire

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (DOE) + Overtime (1.5x)

Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 17:00

The Role

Based at the Grantham site, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing a range of forklift trucks and plant machinery within a workshop environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Diagnosing faults, carrying out servicing, and completing repairs on forklift and plant equipment
• Conducting pre-delivery inspections (PDI) on new and used machinery
• Carrying out mechanical and electrical fault finding
• Working on key systems including:
  • Engines
  • Batteries
  • Hydraulics
  • Pneumatics
• Reconditioning and preparing equipment for hire or resale
• Completing job sheets and service records accurately
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised workshop

What We're Looking For

• Experience working in the plant, agricultural, HGV or material handling industries (essential)
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical systems (essential)
• Experience with engines and battery-powered equipment
