Job description

Role Purpose:

To contribute to the success of the organization through detailed, efficient sales and professional communication internally and externally with customers and suppliers, in alignment with company business objectives. This is a diverse role requiring the completion of various tasks supporting multiple departments. It requires good judgment, organizational skills, and the ability to remain calm and professional in all situations.
While the role covers a broad product range, the primary focus will be on products within the Scientific Division.

Reporting Relationships:

  • Direct Report: Scientific Sales Manager
  • Indirect Report: General Manager

Principal Accountabilities:

The role of Technical Field Sales Representative for the Scientific Division includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Account management
  • Preparing and following up on quotations via email and phone
  • Business development through:
    • Maintaining and growing existing relationships
    • Using market segmentation and competitive analysis to access new markets
  • Client meetings, presentations, and workshops (including field visits)
  • Participation in industry exhibitions
  • Reviewing client terms & conditions to ensure limited business risk
  • Coordinating with production/factory teams for delivery times and costings
  • Collaborating with engineers for technical information and drawings
  • Reviewing customer specifications with product specialists to determine requirements
  • Assisting in the preparation of customer sales presentations
  • Prioritizing quotation requests to meet deadlines
  • Maintaining the CRM system
  • Preparing sales forecasts
  • Compiling sales reports and statistical analyses
  • Working with marketing to increase brand exposure
  • Managing and communicating the annual exhibition schedule
  • Assisting with the organization of events
  • Working with the service team to promote service offerings and generate leads for new equipment sales

Requirements:

  • A life Science background
  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience within the scientific sales, preferably selling laboratory equipment
  • Experience selling through distributer advantageous
  • A valid UK driving license
