Job summary

Thames Water is seeking a proactive Technical Coordinator to join the Operations team. Based at Earlswood or Crawley, you’ll travel to around 9 other sites, coordinating maintenance with field teams and external contractors.

You’ll manage SAP prerequisites, design critical jobs from field data, assess risks, and ensure safety and statutory maintenance. A full UK driving licence and strong collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of plant, equipment, and operational processes.
• Collaborative – able to work with Planners, Field Performance Managers, suppliers, and 3rd parties.
• Technically experienced with a good understanding of how to maintain assets.
• Good local knowledge of asset criticality to sites.
• Meticulous at documenting the finer details of what needs to take place.
• Able to manage a large workload of numerous jobs in parallel.
• Proficient with IT systems, particularly SAP.
• Health & safety knowledge; IOSH or equivalent preferred.
• Full UK driving licence essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage prerequisites within SAP (materials, permits, resources, and services) for all complex jobs.
• Use field data to design operationally critical jobs.
• Highlight operational risks to obtain funding.
• Maintain plant and equipment availability and optimise process performance.
• Develop strong relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
• Provide expert advice on technical issues and operational risks.
• Obtain quotes and order materials/3rd party services through framework contractors.
• Ensure Health and Safety via safe systems of work, RAMS, permitting, site audits.
• Ensure statutory maintenance requirements (lifting equipment, pressure vessels, generators) are met.
