Job summary

Southern Housing is seeking skilled Multi Traders to join our Direct Services team, delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance to residents. You will perform multi-trade tasks across homes, manage your workload, and strive for first-time fixes while keeping residents informed throughout the process.

This field-based role requires availability for an emergency 24-hour rota and a proven track record in repairs, with relevant trade qualifications and a clean driving licence. DBS checks apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Direct Labour Service or similar repairs environment with customer satisfaction at heart.
• Trade qualifications (City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3) or equivalent across multiple trades.
• Experience delivering repairs across different trades and strong health and safety knowledge.
• Ability to diagnose faults and achieve a first-time fix where possible.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with residents, including vulnerable customers.
• Flexible, proactive mindset and willingness to work evenings/weekends with notice.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence with up to six points and two years driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out a wide range of repairs across our homes, including multi-trade tasks.
• Manage your own workload daily to meet service targets and first-time fix goals.
• Keep residents informed and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the repair process.
• Participate in a 24-hour emergency call out rota on a planned basis.
