Job summary

Sanctuary Group in Reading and surrounding areas is seeking a Multi-Trade Operative to join our Day-To-Day team. You will carry out day-to-day responsive and reactive repairs across Social Housing properties, focusing on plumbing or carpentry.

The role covers tasks such as fixing leaks, replacing baths, hanging doors, tiling, UPVC installations and related maintenance. A company van and power tools are provided, with an on‑call rota and a 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in carpentry or electrical (or equivalent)
• Full UK driving license
• Awareness of health and safety regulations and working legislation
• Excellent customer service and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Attending occupied properties to carry out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties within Social Housing
• Resolving problems or initiating resolution steps and keeping customers informed
• Maintaining van stock and restocking as needed
• Providing accurate and timely information on progress of works to customers
• Providing out of hours cover via a call out rota
