Job summary

Hydro International, a CRH Company, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer for our Heathfield, East Sussex branch. This hands‑on field role involves installing, commissioning and testing water filtration systems on sewage treatment sites, with regular travel and overnight stays.

You’ll need a City & Guilds mechanical engineering qualification, completion of a recognised mechanical apprenticeship and a current UK driving licence. Join a team that supports UK wastewater infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Current valid UK driving licence.
• City & Guilds mechanical engineering qualification.
• Completion of a recognised mechanical apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and test water filtration systems on sewage treatment sites.
• Carry out site inspections, diagnose faults and prepare survey reports.
• Use mobile equipment to access and interpret technical information.
• Work at heights, in confined spaces, and outdoors in all weather.
• Work away from home regularly, including overnight stays.
• Occasionally support workshop activities at other UK locations.
• Collaborate with other engineers and trades across the business.
