Job summary

ScotCen (Scottish Centre for Social Research) is recruiting a Field Interviewer to visit people in Scotland and conduct in-home interviews on health, housing, transport and everyday life. You’ll work in your local area, plan routes and travel as needed, and help ensure voices from communities shape services and policy.

You’ll receive £20–£30 per completed interview, holiday pay plus admin fees, paid travel time, mileage allowance and a bonus up to £750 in your first year.

Qualifications

• Valid UK driving licence and sole use of a car.
• Class 1 Business insurance.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Willingness to complete a DBS check.
• Reliable home broadband.
• Confidence using basic technology.
• At least 20 hours available per week (minimum 3 days).
• Flexibility to work across weekdays, evenings and weekends.
• Strong verbal and written English.

Responsibilities

• Visit people in your local area and carry out in-home research interviews.
• Capture stories and accurately record responses to inform decision-making.
• Represent ScotCen in the community and support travel planning for interviews.
