A regional health trust in York is seeking a proactive Band 3 Fibroscan Operator to join their Hepatology team. The role involves receiving referrals, performing scans, and documenting results. Training will be provided, ideal for candidates with a keen interest in Hepatology. Staff benefits include generous holiday, pension scheme, and support services. A position has arisen within the small but dynamic Hepatology team. Fibroscan is now a vital tool used in liver assessment. We are looking for a proactive, forward-thinking individual who can work independently as well as part of a team. Training will be provided to the successful applicant and support given to perform this role.
The Hepatology team provide a vital and ever growing service to the people of North Yorkshire; we are accredited as a centre of excellence as part of the IQILs network, having been recognised as providing high quality liver services to the area.
The number of people developing liver damage is increasing, as risk factors such as alcohol and fatty liver have become widespread. The Hepatology service accepts referrals from GP's, and other specialties including Rheumatology / Dermatology amongst others.
As part of the assessment process, all patients undergo Fibroscan. This is a non-invasive scan to assess for any liver damage, and is the starting process on their clinical journey.
An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen to join this dynamic team in the role of Band 3 Fibroscan Operator, to provide a direct access Fibroscan clinic.
This will involve receiving referrals, allocating clinic space, performing scans and reporting results. The successful applicant may not have experience within the field of Hepatology but an interest in the area is desirable. Full training will be provided, along with the support of a friendly team.
Interviews for this position will be held in person ONLY. Remote interviews will not be available.
