CrossReach in Scotland is recruiting a Centre Worker to support children under 12 and families, building trust, providing practical and emotional help, and helping services connect families with the right support.

You will use play and nurturing approaches, work with social work teams, maintain records, and contribute to service development. The role requires SVQ2/HNC or equivalent and a Christian ethos.

Qualifications

  • Minimum SVQ2/HNC in Social Work, Social Care, Early Years or equivalent; willing to work towards one.

Responsibilities

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with children, parents and carers.
  • Create a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment for families.
  • Work alongside families to understand their needs, strengths and challenges.
  • Help families develop practical strategies to support home life, relationships and wellbeing.
  • Use play and nurturing approaches to support children’s wellbeing and development.
  • Collaborate with social work teams and other agencies to connect families with the right support.
  • Signpost families to additional services and resources when needed.
  • Recognise and respond to safeguarding and wellbeing concerns.
  • Support and guide volunteers within the service.
  • Keep accurate records and contribute to planning and reviewing the support provided.
  • Bring your ideas to help develop the service.
