Job summary

CrossReach in Port Glasgow is seeking a Children’s Worker for our residential home. You’ll be with young people daily, helping with activities, routines, meals, and supportive conversations to build confidence and independence.

You’ll work as part of a team, maintain boundaries, and collaborate with families and professionals. A PVG scheme membership and UK eligibility to work are required; training and development are supported with a broad benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting children or young people would be valuable.
• Ability to build warm, positive relationships and maintain consistent boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Support young people to feel safe, valued and at home.
• Take part in activities, hobbies, trips and everyday experiences based on the interests and needs of the young people you support.
• Encourage young people to try new things and develop their confidence and independence.
• Build trusting relationships while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries.
• Support everyday routines including meals, appointments, education and activities.
• Be a positive and dependable role model.
• Work alongside colleagues, families and other professionals to provide consistent support.
• Keep accurate records and contribute to individual support plans.
