Job summary

Action for Children in Glasgow is recruiting a 28-hour per week Family Support Practitioner on a fixed-term contract until 30 June 2027. You will work 9am–4pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday to support vulnerable children and families in schools and communities.

The role requires an HNC or SVQ3 in social care or equivalent, post-qualification experience with children, a driving licence, and a compassionate, proactive approach aligned with The Promise and GIRFEC.

Qualifications

• HNC or SVQ 3 in social care or equivalent.
• Post-qualification experience with children, young people and families.
• Caring and compassionate with initiative and ability to build relationships.
• Knowledge of The Promise and GIRFEC approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to families and young people in homes, schools and local communities.
• Identify needs early and coordinate with services to access wellbeing support.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to monitoring outcomes.
