Job summary

Herefordshire Council is seeking a qualified Social Worker for the Family Help locality team in Hereford. You will collaborate with children, families, and partner agencies to deliver support and intervention services under the Children Acts and Families First framework.

You will lead a Family Help caseload, assess risks, develop plans, and participate in multi‑agency safeguarding activities, ensuring outcomes and 안전 for children while working within a restorative practice approach.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
• Experience in statutory social care with children and families.
• Ability to assess risk and deliver effective interventions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a complex Family Help caseload within a locality team.
• Chair and contribute to Child in Need, core group and strategy meetings; undertake risk assessments and safeguarding work.
• Maintain accurate records and produce high-quality reports including court work.

Education

Social Work Degree, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent
