Job summary

Herefordshire Council is seeking a qualified Social Worker to join the Family Help locality team in Leominster. You will lead and manage a complex caseload, develop tailored Family Help Plans, and work closely with partner agencies to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.

You will assess risks, chair core meetings, and contribute to decision-making, with a strong emphasis on restorative practice and high-quality, statutory social work.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
• Experience in statutory social care settings.
• Understanding of safeguarding and relevant legislation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a complex Family Help caseload within a locality team.
• Develop and implement Family Help Plans with partners.
• Chair Child in Need, core group and strategy meetings; undertake risk assessments.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to decision-making and court work.
• Promote safe outcomes for children and support looked-after children where applicable.
