Job summary

Herefordshire Council is hiring a Family Support Worker (Multi-Disciplinary) for the Family Help North Locality. You will work with vulnerable children, young people and families across homes, schools and community settings, delivering evidence-based interventions as part of the Families First Programme.

You will assess needs, coordinate support, and lead Family Help assessments and reviews, while safeguarding and maintaining timely records.

Qualifications

• Hold a Level 4 qualification (or above) in a relevant field.
• Experience with children, young people and families, including lone working.
• Experience managing complex caseloads and coordinating multi-agency support.
• Experience delivering parenting programmes (e.g., Triple P or Solihull) is desirable.
• Strong communication, organisational and IT skills; ability to work independently and with others.

Responsibilities

• Write Family Help Assessments and lead Family Help review meetings.
• Deliver interventions as part of the Family Help plan to promote resilience.
• Coordinate multi-agency support and referrals; maintain accurate records.
• Contribute to safeguarding and complete specialist assessments as needed.
• Attend supervision, training, and, where required, court processes.
