Job description
Facilities Support / Receptionist - Full time County Buildings - North & East Lancaster & Morecambe

Salary £25,185-£25,989 per annum | 37 hours per week | Permanent, Full time | County Buildings - North & East | Lancaster & Morecambe, Lancashire

To provide a friendly, welcoming, and professional front of house reception function and provide general administration and office support to the Operational Facilities Manager and to the wider service management teams.

We are currently recruiting a friendly and helpful Facilities Receptionist/Administrator to work within the Facilities Management Service at Lancashire County Council.

Do you have a sparkling personality with excellent communication skills? Do you have experience in customer service and enjoy providing assistance and directions? If so, you could be the new face of our welcoming and supportive Neighbourhood Centre!

In this diverse role you will be working across our two main receptions – one entrance for our LCC Professionals and another for the service users who require access to our facilities or those who have general enquiries. There is plenty of variety to this job as no two days are the same; you will need to think on your feet and be ready to have all the answers to maintain impeccable customer service.

What We Are Looking For
  • Empathy & Resilience – You will be empathetic in nature, greeting service users with a warm and welcoming smile so they are immediately put at ease. When dealing directly with members of the public or large multi‑agency panel meetings, your resilience will be put to the test. It is important to remain calm and provide a sympathetic ear.
  • Service Excellence – You will be an organiser, coordinating with other services to ensure basic facilities are maintained to a high standard, such as boiler services, alarm testing, and liaising with other sites to book contractors for general maintenance and repairs. We want our sites to remain shiny and inviting. You must be computer literate and proficient in using Excel to keep our data up to date and accurate. Training will be provided on how to use our systems to book rooms for meetings.
  • Collaborative – You will be joining a supportive and close‑knit team, working together to reach our goals and building a lovely rapport with your colleagues. You will be working on a rota basis for each reception, 8.30 to 4.30 one week and 9 to 5 the next. Safeguarding and company coverage will be maintained by working in pairs and by following established procedures.
Why Join Us

Benefits include discounts and benefits from dog care to day care to days out or in, log cabins by Snowdon or holidays abroad, pampering and fitness for your mind, body & soul, long service awards, Medicash, support groups, public service pensions, cycle to work schemes and eye tests among many more.

Development: you’ll receive support and development along the journey, with time for reflective supervision, opportunities for personal growth, multidisciplinary initiatives, mentoring, and the chance to make a difference and achieve job satisfaction.

Inclusivity: we embrace diversity, focusing on delivering successful outcomes and providing support or cover when needed at short notice.
