Job summary

Sodexo in Buxton is seeking a General Services Manager to lead integrated facilities management across catering, cleaning, security and broader facilities services. You will be responsible for day-to-day operations, financial performance, and staff development in a fast-paced environment.

You will champion health and safety, food safety and compliance, while maintaining strong client relationships and delivering outstanding service.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in General Services/Facilities leadership.
• Experience across catering, cleaning, security and facilities management.
• Strong leadership and staff development track record.
• Client and stakeholder relationship management.
• Commercial and financial awareness with budgets/forecasts.
• Experience in regulated/compliance environments.
• Strong Health & Safety knowledge.
• IOSH qualification or equivalent.
• Food Safety Level 3.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage performance and development of colleagues.
• Proactive continuous improvement mindset.
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office.
• Hands-on, resilient leadership with multi-priority focus.
• Excellent organisational skills for busy operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of integrated facilities management services across catering, cleaning, security and facilities operations.
• Inspire, lead and develop teams to deliver high service quality.
• Own day-to-day operations; ensure safe, efficient and compliant service delivery.
• Build strong client and stakeholder relationships; exceed expectations.
• Regularly review service delivery to improve quality and experience.
• Own financial performance: budgets, forecasting, labour costs, stock and cost control.
• Monitor performance against targets; take corrective actions as needed.
• Lead on Health & Safety, food safety, security and compliance.
• Maintain HACCP controls across catering operations.
• Oversee security operations; manage incidents and follow-ups.
• Collaborate with cleaning management to resource services effectively.
• Monitor standards via site walks, audits and feedback.
• Recruit, induct and develop colleagues; provide regular feedback.
• Drive continuous improvement and growth opportunities within the contract.
• Work with internal teams and suppliers to deliver outstanding service.
