Job summary

Mitie Group is seeking a Facilities Assistant for DVSA Garretts Green, Birmingham. The role supports operational management of the site under the Compliance Manager on the DfT FM contract, including front desk duties and visitor management.

Candidates must pass security checks to work on client premises, and will contribute to health and safety compliance and service delivery improvements across the complex.

Qualifications

• Experience of FM services on a large corporate office environment.
• Excellent people communication skills; ability to manage and develop positive relationships with both on site staff and visitors to the site.
• Good working knowledge of H&S related to TFM services.
• Ability to remain calm when under pressure.
• Desirable: SIA licence or willingness to train as monitoring CCTV is part of the role.
• Desirable: First Aid.
• Desirable: IOSH managing safely or equivalent in FM.
• Desirable: Manual Handling.

Responsibilities

• Man the front desk, ensuring security protocols are followed and issue visitor passes.
• Advise staff that visitors have arrived and ensure signing in/out.
• Ensure activities comply with Health & Safety, Quality, Environment & Sustainability, and Employment Legislation.
• Embed a zero-accidents culture of Health and Safety within the contract.
• Liaise with client representatives on service delivery, performance improvements and development.
• Work with Interserve and third-party suppliers for integrated service delivery.
• Coordinate with specialist teams to capture best practices.
• Support facilities team during evacuations and drills.
• Ensure entrance area is clean and tidy and manage visitor management/CCTV monitoring.
• Maintain H&S compliance including inspections and investigations.
