Job summary

Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services is seeking a Facilities Assistant for the DVSA site in Birmingham. The role is part-time with total weekly hours of 25 across early morning and late afternoon shifts.

You will manage front desk security, issue visitor passes and sign-ins while complying with HSE and company policies. The position involves coordinating with multiple teams, supporting evacuations, and maintaining a safe, clean access point.

Qualifications

• Experience of FM services on a large corporate office environment.
• Excellent people communication skills; ability to manage and develop positive relationships with onsite staff and visitors.
• Good working knowledge of Health & Safety related to TFM services.
• Ability to remain calm when under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Staff at front desk and visitor management; issue passes and sign-in.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and corporate policies.
• Embed a zero-accident culture of Health and Safety.
• Liaise with client units on service delivery and improvements.
• Coordinate with Interserve and third-party suppliers for integrated service delivery.
• Support evacuations and incident handling.
• Manage entrances and CCTV monitoring; ensure security of the complex.
• Conduct risk assessments and monitor energy usage.
