Job summary

Virgin Active in London is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join the Maintenance Team on a fixed-term contract (FTC) for 40 hours per week. You will operate and maintain a preventative maintenance programme across the site, ensuring safety, compliance and high standards of everyday operation.

You will monitor fixtures, keep records, and work with the club team to resolve issues, while adhering to Health & Safety policies and maintaining plant rooms and exits to required standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold a technical Level 2 qualification (City & Guilds or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a preventative maintenance programme for the whole site.
• Ensure engineering compliance standards to protect members and staff.
• Maintain basic fixtures and fittings to high standards of order and tidiness.
• Carry out daily and weekly checks with accurate record-keeping.
• Follow Health & Safety policies and report issues promptly.
• Maintain plant rooms, basement, roof and fire exits to company standards.
• Be proactive, take ownership during shifts and respond to member queries.
