Job summary

British Steel, based at Scunthorpe, is seeking a Buildings & Estate Facilities Maintenance Engineer to join the Engineering Infrastructure team. You will maintain and improve roads, drainage, buildings and estate assets across the site, managing refurbishment projects and contractors to ensure safety, reliability and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Degree in facilities management, building maintenance, civil engineering or related discipline or HNC/equivalent with significant experience.
• Significant experience managing buildings and facilities maintenance in a large organisation or industrial site.
• IOSH Managing Safely qualification or equivalent.
• Strong communication, planning and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage maintenance and repair of roads, drainage, buildings and estate infrastructure assets.
• Develop and deliver maintenance plans, asset management strategies and improvement programmes.
• Scope, procure and supervise refurbishment and major repair projects.
• Manage contractors to ensure safe, efficient delivery and standards.
• Lead health, safety and environmental culture.
