Job summary

British Steel is seeking a Lead Engineering Planner to head the maintenance planning activities within the Internal Logistics HRS team in Scunthorpe. You will develop and maintain maintenance plans, allocate critical work, and ensure safety and reliability across assets.

The role requires strong SAP experience, excellent organisational skills and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to improve asset performance and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in maintenance planning, engineering or reliability roles.
• Strong understanding of maintenance management systems, ideally SAP.
• Ability to coordinate activities, manage priorities and drive work completion.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, coordination and continuous improvement of maintenance activities across rolling stock, engines, pumps and workshop infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain maintenance plans and allocate work activities.
• Manage SHE-critical tasks and oversee work through HRS centres and planner groups.
• Collaborate with engineers, plant managers and operations teams to deliver maintenance efficiently and safely.
• Support development of maintenance strategies and monitor KPIs to improve reliability.
