Job summary

Bimplus is seeking a Façade Engineer to design, specify and deliver façade systems from concept through construction on UK and international projects.

You will work with architects, structural engineers and contractors to deliver robust, commercially viable envelope solutions while supporting junior engineers and pursuing Chartered status.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in façade engineering or building envelope design.
• Knowledge of curtain walling, rainscreen cladding, glazing systems and façade materials.
• Knowledge of structural analysis and engineering principles.
• Experience producing engineering calculations and technical reports.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Working towards Chartered Engineer status (or already Chartered) advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Produce façade designs and technical solutions for a range of new-build and refurbishment projects.
• Undertake structural and thermal assessments of façade systems.
• Prepare calculations, technical reports and design documentation.
• Develop specifications and review contractor proposals.
• Attend design team meetings, site inspections and project reviews.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout all project stages.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant British Standards, Eurocodes and current Building Regulations.
• Support junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence across the team.

The Role
