Job summary

Purosearch Ltd. is recruiting a Senior Façade Engineer to join a leading multidisciplinary consultancy in Bristol. The role covers the full project lifecycle from technical assessment to site inspections and client liaison.

You will work on complex buildings, delivering specialist façade engineering advice and collaborating with architects, engineers and contractors to develop practical solutions. Hybrid working is available.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in façade engineering or building envelope design.
• Strong knowledge of curtain walls, rainscreen, masonry, windows.
• Experience with site inspections and façade condition assessments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for client liaison.
• Ability to produce technical reports and engineering documentation.
• Commercially aware with client relationships and project delivery.
• Ideally Chartered or working towards Chartered status.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking site visits, façade inspections and condition assessments, identifying defects and risks.
• Providing technical façade engineering advice across new-build, refurbishment and remediation projects.
• Producing and reviewing technical reports, specifications, calculations and façade design information.

• Reviewing façade systems, materials and interfaces for standards compliance.
• Supporting project delivery from concept through construction and completion.
• Attending project meetings and design reviews to resolve façade-related issues.
• Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the wider façade team's development.

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Façade Engineer to join the façade engineering team of a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy.

This is a client-facing opportunity for a technically strong façade professional who is confident working across the full project lifecycle, from technical assessment and design through to site inspections, reporting and client liaison.

You will work on a diverse portfolio of complex buildings and developments, providing specialist façade engineering advice to clients, design teams, contractors and other project stakeholders.

The Role

As a Senior Façade Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Undertaking site visits, façade inspections and condition assessments, identifying defects, construction issues and potential risks.
• Providing technical façade engineering advice across new-build, refurbishment and remediation projects.
• Producing and reviewing technical reports, specifications, calculations and façade design information.
• Acting as a key client-facing representative, developing strong relationships with clients and communicating technical findings clearly.
• Working closely with architects, structural engineers, contractors and specialist façade subcontractors to develop practical and technically robust solutions.
• Reviewing façade systems, details, materials and interfaces to ensure compliance with relevant standards and project requirements.
• Supporting project delivery from concept and detailed design through to construction and completion.
• Attending project meetings, design reviews and site meetings, providing technical input and resolving façade-related issues.
• Mentoring and supporting junior engineers and contributing to the development of the wider façade team.

About You

We are looking for a Senior Façade Engineer with:

• Proven experience working within façade engineering, façade consultancy or building envelope engineering.
• Strong technical understanding of façade systems, including curtain walling, rainscreen cladding, masonry, windows and other external envelope systems.
• Experience undertaking site inspections and façade condition assessments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to deal directly with clients and project stakeholders.
• Experience producing technical reports, specifications and engineering documentation.
• The ability to analyse façade defects and develop appropriate remedial or design solutions.
• A commercially aware and professional approach to client relationships and project delivery.
• Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary design teams.
• Ideally, Chartered or working towards Chartered Engineer status.
