Job summary

Purosearch is recruiting a Façade Engineer in Birmingham to join a leading international engineering consultancy. You will design and deliver façade systems, work with architects and engineers, and contribute to robust, compliant building envelope solutions across national and international projects.

You will develop calculations, technical reports and specifications while collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team and advancing toward Chartered Engineer status.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in façade engineering or building envelope design.
• Understanding of curtain walling, rainscreen cladding and glazing systems.
• Knowledge of structural analysis and engineering principles.
• Experience producing engineering calculations and technical reports.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Working towards Chartered Engineer status (advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Produce façade designs and technical solutions for a range of new-build and refurbishment projects.
• Undertake structural and thermal assessments of façade systems.
• Prepare calculations, technical reports and design documentation.
• Develop specifications and review contractor proposals.
• Attend design team meetings, site inspections and project reviews.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams through all project stages.
• Ensure designs comply with British Standards, Eurocodes and Building Regulations.
• Support junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence.

The Role

As a Façade Engineer, you will be involved in the design, specification and delivery of façade systems from concept through to construction. You will work closely with architects, structural engineers and specialist contractors to develop technically robust and commercially viable façade solutions.

About You
