Job summary

Purosearch is seeking a Senior Structural Façade Engineer to lead complex façade projects in London. You will oversee design from concept to construction, liaise with architects and contractors, and drive technical excellence on high-rise and landmark schemes.

The role offers hybrid working, mentoring opportunities, and clear progression towards principal and associate levels. A competitive package and ongoing CPD are provided.

Qualifications

• 7+ years' experience in structural façade engineering.
• Strong knowledge of curtain walling, rainscreen cladding and glazing systems.
• Experience producing structural calculations with TEDDS/Robot/Strand7/ANSYS.
• Good understanding of Eurocodes and British Standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and engineering of façade systems from concept to construction.
• Carry out structural calculations for curtain walls and glazing.
• Produce technical reports, calculations and design documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and support project planning and client liaison.

Senior Structural Engineer

Location: London (Hybrid)

Are you an experienced Structural Engineer looking to take the lead on some of the UK's most prestigious building envelope projects?

Our client is a well-established, growing façade consultancy with an outstanding reputation for delivering innovative structural engineering solutions across high-rise residential, commercial, mixed-use, healthcare and infrastructure projects. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Senior Structural Façade Engineer to join their expanding team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys leading projects, mentoring junior engineers and working closely with architects, contractors and developers to deliver technically challenging façade solutions.

The Role

As a Senior Structural Façade Engineer, you will:

• Lead the structural design and engineering of façade systems from concept through to construction.
• Carry out structural calculations for curtain walling, cladding, glazing and bespoke façade elements.
• Deliver projects across aluminium, steel, glass, GRC, stone and rainscreen façade systems.
• Review design proposals and ensure compliance with relevant British Standards, Eurocodes and Building Regulations.
• Attend client meetings and provide technical expertise throughout the design process.
• Liaise with architects, contractors, specialist subcontractors and manufacturers.
• Produce technical reports, calculations and design documentation.
• Mentor and support junior engineers within the team.
• Carry out site inspections and provide technical support during construction.
• Assist with project planning, programme management and client development.

Requirements

We're looking for candidates with:

• 7+ years' experience in structural façade engineering.
• Strong knowledge of curtain walling, rainscreen cladding, structural glazing and façade support systems.
• Experience producing structural calculations using industry software such as TEDDS, Robot Structural Analysis, Strand7, ANSYS or similar.
• Good understanding of Eurocodes, British Standards and Building Regulations.
• Experience working on high-rise and complex building envelope projects.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Working towards or already Chartered (CEng MIStructE or MICE) would be advantageous.
