Job summary

Purosearch is recruiting a Façade Engineer for a leading global property and consultancy business in Manchester. This permanent, full-time, hybrid role offers £45,000 - £60,000 DOE + Benefits and involves working across high-profile commercial, residential and mixed-use developments.

You will contribute from early design through construction, inspections and technical assessment, liaising with clients, architects, contractors and other engineering disciplines.

Qualifications

• A degree in Façade Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in façade consultancy, engineering consultancy, contractor or specialist façade environment.
• Strong knowledge of façade systems, materials and construction.
• Experience with façade inspections, assessments, design or technical engineering.
• Good understanding of relevant British Standards, Eurocodes and CWCT guidance.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively with clients and project teams.
• Excellent report writing and technical communication.

Responsibilities

• Deliver façade engineering assessments, investigations and technical reports across a range of building types.
• Provide input across the RIBA design stages, from concept through to construction.
• Assess existing façade systems, identifying defects, failures and potential remedial solutions.
• Review façade designs, specifications, calculations, drawings and technical submissions.
• Undertake site inspections, surveys and condition assessments.
• Provide technical advice relating to curtain walling, cladding, rainscreen systems, glazing and building envelope systems.
• Support façade remediation and refurbishment projects, including fire safety-related works where required.
• Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, manufacturers and other consultants.
• Assist with project delivery, technical coordination and quality assurance.
• Prepare clear and detailed technical reports and recommendations.

The Opportunity

We are working with a leading global property and consultancy business who are looking to appoint an experienced Façade Engineer to join their growing technical team in Manchester.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong façade professional to work across a diverse portfolio of high-profile commercial, residential and mixed-use developments, providing specialist façade engineering expertise across both new-build and existing buildings.

You will be involved in projects from early design through to construction, inspection and technical assessment, working closely with clients, architects, contractors and other engineering disciplines.

About You
